Fertiliser haulage

FIAS-registered fertiliser haulage

Bagged fertiliser transport by a FIAS-registered, Kiwa-audited haulier, from the ports or the plant to the merchant or the farm.

FIAS registered

Why fertiliser moves under an assurance scheme

Fertiliser is not ordinary freight. Some products are regulated because of what they can be misused for, and everyone in the chain, from manufacturers and ports through to merchants, stores and hauliers, has to be able to show where a consignment came from, where it went and who handled it.

The Fertiliser Industry Assurance Scheme (FIAS) is the industry's answer to that. Launched in 2006 and run by the Agricultural Industries Confederation, it had government backing as an alternative to further legislation. It covers security, so product can only be used for legitimate purposes, safety for the public and the environment, and traceability from source to end user.

Delphic is a FIAS-registered transport operator, audited by Kiwa. For manufacturers, importers, merchants and blenders, your product travels with a haulier inside the assured chain rather than outside it.

What we carry

  • Bagged fertiliser, in big bags and smaller bagged product, palletised
  • Collections from ports as well as plants and stores
  • Deliveries to merchants, blenders, stores and farms
  • Regulated products moved under our ADR certification

What we do not do: we run curtainsiders, not tippers or bulk tankers, so loose bulk fertiliser is not something we can take. If it is bagged, we can move it.

Where we work

Cheshire, the North West and nationwide

Our Winsford base sits in the middle of the motorway network, which suits agricultural work. Positioning runs are short and most of the country is within a day. Fertiliser transport runs alongside our general UK haulage, so the traffic office that knows your delivery windows also knows where every truck is.

Season matters in this trade. If you need cover through a peak, talk to us early and we will tell you what capacity we can commit.

FAQs

Fertiliser haulage: common questions

Are you FIAS registered?
Yes. Delphic is registered under the Fertiliser Industry Assurance Scheme, the industry assurance system covering the security, safety and traceability of fertiliser through the supply chain. Our certification is audited by Kiwa.
Do you carry bagged or bulk fertiliser?
Bagged. Our fleet is curtainsider, so we carry palletised and bagged product, in big bags and smaller bagged goods. We do not operate tippers or bulk tankers, so loose bulk is not something we take.
Can you collect from the ports?
Yes. Port collections can be arranged as part of the service.
Do you carry ammonium nitrate and other regulated products?
Our drivers are ADR trained and we are FIAS registered, which covers the documentation and security obligations around regulated fertiliser products. Give the traffic office the product details and we will confirm.
What does FIAS registration actually mean for me?
It means your fertiliser moves with a haulier audited against the scheme's published standards, keeping the required records and following the agreed procedures for security, safety and traceability, rather than one who simply says they are careful.
